Billericay Town Colts Football Club founded in 1981 as Scotia Boys run teams that compete in and around south east Essex. This season our players range in age from 5 to 18 years. Players up to the age of 10 years play mini-soccer in accordance with the guidelines of The Football Association and the Essex FA.
We are particularly proud that in 2006 we joined that very small elite group of clubs who have attained Community Club status, the top tier of the FA Charter Standard programme. Our objective is to provide competitive football for young players in a friendly atmosphere. Emphasis is placed on coaching and the club runs an ever increasing programme of courses. At an awards ceremony in June 2007 we were honoured to be awarded Charter Standard Community Club of the year by the Essex County Football Association. Additionally in April we were awarded Essex County Council Gold Club SX accreditation in recognition of the opportunities we provide and the standards to which they are delivered.
The club fully support the code of conduct issued by the Football Association, which requires that games are played in a spirit of sportsmanship and fair play. Players should be given every encouragement and not fear the consequences, if and when, things go wrong. Foul and abusive language, or bad behaviour, from players or spectators is not tolerated. Every respect must be accorded the match officials without whom there would be no game. Follow this link for full details of the FA Code of Conduct.
Opportunities to progress into adult and senior levels of football, is a key goal. To assist with this goal the club has close links with Billericay Town FC where we form their youth section. For the season 2009/10 the club is running two adult teams that play on Saturday's in the Mid-Essex League under the name of Scotia Billericay. We are also running an Under 15 team who will play in the Eastern Junior Alliance League under our name. This will give our players exposure to highly competitive football, playing against junior sides that are mainly associated to senior clubs. Our goal over the longer term is that more of our players have the opportunity to make it into the ranks of the Billericay Town Under 18 EJA squad or their senior team.
